Opacity of shapes in saved PDFs.

Opacity of shapes in saved PDFs.

I post two images here : first one is saved as pdf from inside of Alchemy, while second one is a screenshot of Alchemy workspace. Opacity is actually different from the 2 of them. I think it has to do with pdf gamma, any clue about it?

I drew 3 overlapping closed shapes with black color and 50% transparency.

This is not a problem for me on mac using Preview (ignore the window drop shadow in the middle):

Alchemy | Preview.app (Mac OS X)

But I can imagine your Pdf software is converting RGB > CMYK - which would give you slipping colours.
I'll have a look into a work around.
In the meantime I would be interested to hear what software people are using and if it displays the colours correctly or not?

Have a try with this:
http://al.chemy.org/files/Alchemy-005-Post.zip

I have added a setting to define the colour space as RGB.
On Foxit on Windoze it looks fine, I haven't got reader installed so haven't tried it with that beast yet.
Let me know how you go!

Hello Karl, I can't find that setting, where is it? Anyway I post here the output of the release you provided, where you can see both the usual tablet problem and the opacity difference between Alchemy rendering (first image) and PDF rendering (second image) I hope it helps.

Sorry, I mean the setting was set in the code, there is no interface or anything.
To my eyes that looks better than before don't you think?

What software are you using? Adobe Reader?
I think that it will actually depend on the software a lot.
When I open the PDF in Illustrator it comes in as RGB, which is the main thing - and the colours look fine.
Photoshop you can set the colour mode, and the colours look pretty much ok when you bring the PDF in.
