Awesome.

I have only one problem-- I can't get it to start. According the process viewer, it starts, and goes into Java app mode, but it stalls out past there without launching.

Any clue as to what might be causing this? I've tried gutting and reinstalling it a few times, to no avail.

Thanks much, and again, kudos on releasing a new version. The software and work put into it is greatly appreciated.

Messing around with it a bit right now. Works great on my box (64 bit Vista).

Loving the new features. :-D

I took a look at my processes just to see if it was there. It is. It had three separate processes for the program. I could do anything but end them. I was only able to get it open once.

edit: I think every time I run it out through my documents it messes up.

There has been this bug with Alchemy failing to launch.
Specifically if you use Simple Interface mode:
post1798.html

Does that apply to your case blue_fox?

I have also posted a version with debug console for windows:
http://al.chemy.org/files/Alchemy-008-Debug.zip
Any output from that would be helpful to figure out what is going on (along with the OS and Java version etc...)

There was also a bug on Mac OS 10.4 Tiger, causing Alchemy not to launch at all.
We have released a separate version for that platform here:

I had the same problem of Alchemy not launching even though the process was running.
Then I realized that unzipping and overwriting over the previous install might not be the best idea. So I deleted the entire folder and unzipped again and now it works.
Great update by the way and thank you so much for implementing Flip Canvas.

That's what I did. I also put the folder on my desktop. I wasn't sure it being in My Documents was a factor in it's failure to launch.

I have it working now. It has to be something with copying of the preexisting files.
