Just wanted to point out that Alchemy is available on getdeb now too: http://www.getdeb.net/software/Alchemy

What is means that instead of downloading the folder for Linux and saving it somewhere, you just click - the package is installed on your system and added to the app menu. When an update is available, the update manager notifies you of it and you click the button to upgrade.

Would be nice if it was listed as an alternative download link for ubuntu!

Do you know what it takes to get software listed like that?

No modules found

Postby jamesmorrow07 on Tue, 12 Jan 2010 20:45:27 GMT

I have a problem with trying to open up Alchemy. A window pops up saying, "At least one module must be installed for Alchemy to run. Check the module folder and try to launch the application again."

I unzipped all the module files, and it still doesn't work. What do I do? How do I "install" the modules?

Hi,

You don't need to unzip the module files. Just the main download.
Be sure to copy the files to a new directory (delete the old Alchemy version first).
The directory should look like this, with a bunch of .zip files inside the modules folder (important).

If that doesn't work please let us know more information.

Oh, I meant listed on the Alchemy downloads page.

As for the Ubuntu repos, you file a report either in Debian or Ubuntu, make friends with one of the packagers, and they do it for you. A process I don't really favour.
