No, I use USB mouse

Looks like problem is not in JPen.
I've loaded JPen free version of alchemy (for 006 env), as you suggested, from post632.html#p632 thread

and run this jar in 006 environment - Alchemy loads, mentioned errors disapears, BUT still there is no content in Alchemy window neither any controls/hotkeys available.

It seems I have some lack of mouse support dependent on Linux configuration.
But there is no other soft with such a problem on my box.

Thanks for investigation. I'll post the solution here if I'll find

"Java Version: 1.5.0"... looks like your java command is not invoking the 1.6 java. Run:
$ java -version
It should output something like:
---
java version "1.6.0_15"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_15-b03)
Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 14.1-b02, mixed mode, sharing)
---
If not, you can try "sudo update-alternatives --config java" to select the 1.6 jre for java.

Strangely enough I can't get 007.2 to work on my system with java update 17 installed.

Yet when I throw into the terminal the line of code you posted earlier Karl
java -jar ./Alchemy.jar

It works.

???

I'm not sure what I need to do to get this working without the terminal, but it works. :)!

Weird.
So I copied the alchemy text file from the 006 dir into the 007.2 dir and replaced the other one.
It works now. I'm certain I tried that earlier.

Anyways, now it sees the alchemy file as an executable text file.

EDIT:

So I managed to learn something tonight. I'm assuming the chmod command wasn't used on the file?
I restored the old version of the file and it would no longer launch. Went into the terminal and cd to my alchemy 007.2 folder
then did the command
chmod +x alchemy
it works now.
Hope this helps others

Thanks for that, I will check it out.
I switching from setting chmod +x manually to automatically with the build - so maybe there is something funny going on.
