Background work

Postby jader9920 on Thu, 07 Jan 2010 15:41:08 GMT

I just started using alchemeny, and so far I am loving it! I think I might be using it a bit different than most though. I use it to record sessions of just random scribbling which I will then bring into photoshop and look for shapes/inspiration.

Which leads me to my idea/suggestion:

Because I love the chaos of the whole thing, I would love to be able to have alchemy running in the background on my pc, creating completely random shapes and or lines based on mouse movement, keystrokes, whatever. This could be recorded as sessions, so that I could fire it up when I get to work in the morning, and stop it when I leave for the day, e-mail my "workday session" to myself, fire it up in photoshop and see what I had.

just a thought based on my usage so far.

That is a great idea!
It would really be cool to use that information.

I am not sure that it can be done with pure java though :(
When the application (or window) is deactivated then all mouse events stop.
What's more with the pen library we use, it is also like that.

Writing a JNI library would be one way of getting around that, but it is not so easy to get it working on all platforms.
