perspective and control points.

like what was said before.. i think you could possibly click a button that would initialize a control points placement to adjust the perspective of the canvas. so let's say you click the button.. the control points would be four at each corner.. you move these into a perspective you would like, and when you start drawing again all of the new lines and shapes created would remain within the new control points at perspective. it would be a great addition for adding depth to images, but wouldn't take away the chaos that goes on in the canvas. and of course you could reset the perspective to default 2d with a simple click again.

come to think of it, another great idea would simply be to have control points that set the border of the area you're drawing in.. almost like a selection, but not really like an editing tool.. more like a method of limiting the chaos to selected areas. so.. you could sketch out something that looks like a figure, then adjust some control points ( more than four if you wanted ) to the figure's "arm" area, and develop the new chaos into a tattoo design for your character! sorry, i'm developing this idea as i'm typing :) perhaps this and the perspective could be part of a larger tool, where you can limit the control points to four for perspective, or drag and drap multiple control points to set a border for the drawing area.

this seems like it could quiet some of the users who want some workaround for the traditional editing style of photoshop, without giving up alchemy's foundation of madness and fun. sounds like a technical nightmare, but maybe not? eh?

note: when visualizing what i mean about the control points in perspective, think of the distort transform option in photoshop, except you set the points first and THEN draw in the shapes.

please adopt this one karl! then i can add a fifth feature to my list of ideas i've helped come up with :) it makes alchemy feel so personally satisfying.
