Something for creating more organic masses

I love the Type Shapes tool, but i find that, more often than not, it creates very aggressive, angular shapes, making the creation of curvilinear shapes possible only by use of the regular drawing tools, pull shapes (if your library is full of organic shapes), or if you happen to have very organic fonts in your library (and, even then, they get twisted into something angular). So, it would great to have a tool that primarily creates curvilinear shapes.
