lock transparent pixels.

Voice ideas for new Alchemy modules and features

lock transparent pixels.

hey karl and folks. haven't commented here in quite a while ( been busy working full time for a new client ). i've been using alchemy often for concepts and wishing that we had an option to lock the transparent pixels in the image and only mark on the pixels that are already in place. photoshop has this option in their layers palette and i would love to see alchemy have this. it would be most useful to simply have a button that one can press ( virtual button that is ) to lock the pixels, and pressing the button again to unlock them, so that it can be turned on and off on the fly. i'm not sure how this would work with vector. little options like this are becoming more important and fun to me than new modules so i would love to see alchemy improving with these sorts of ideas. if i think of any more i will post a topic. thanks again for making such an amazingly fun and useful program available for free. i know it takes a lot of work.

hey,

Sounds interesting, what is the button in photoshop? I'll try and have a look.
In vector the closest thing is a mask I think, not quite the same and difficult to implement so that you mask using EVERY shape.

it's in the layers palette where the "lock" options are. there's four options for locking different parts of the selected layer. it's the checkered button. this would be huge, but i understand if it's tricky.

Might be more simple to lock based on color if thats the case. Just have a tolerance bar or something. None the less it seems like quite the task :)
