Layered sketching

Is it possible to have some simple layers?
It would help us a lot.
Specially when we want to sketch our object separate with its background.

The general workflow with Alchemy is to generate shapes and forms for initial ideas.
You can save everything as a PDF, so it can then be imported into other software that has 'full' functionality like layers, undo, etc etc...
So right now, we are interested in exploring how to make interesting shapes and forms, rather than implementing all of the features of photoshop or painter.

That said, we are open to adding some functionality if it aids in the creative process.
One such feature we have implemented is the loading of a background image, View > Load Background Image...
That might be useful for drawing on top of an image.
