Syphon - could we get it implemented

We can't implement every plugin for every possible system - there is just no way, no time, etc. So someone from the Alchemy dev or advanced users will have to step up.

Vade - you are the bomb! I've been using your screen record with alchemy for 1.5- 2 years now. Love it.

Really looking forward to Syphon support too !

Thanks,

It has been some time, but no movement towards Syphon? Or have I missed something?

We have a mostly working JNI port of Syphon which has allowed JOGL and LWGL based apps to use Syphon. At this point its up to someone from Alchemy dev team to step in and implement it.

The Syphon team can't be responsible for every implementation out there (we have lots of 3rd party devs helping us out with particular implementations for Open Frameworks, Processing, etc), its just too much work for two devs - too many API's, systems and languages to support.

To be clear, my note about JOGL and LWGL is to indicate that we have working Java support in Syphon (thus having Processing working, as well as one skilled developer using JMonkey 3D engine) - so this means its possible to shim it into Alchemy if it uses OpenGL at all for drawing. If not, its still possible but would require a bit more work.
