If you prefer your own native tongue or hate English you might like to help out and translate Alchemy - no programming required!
Here's how you do it:

1 - Check out the English language localisation here
2 - Translate!
3 - Send it on to [alchemy [at] al [dot] chemy [dot] org] or let us know about it by posting back in this thread

Good luck!

Hi Karl DD,

I'd like to do Chinese translation, but I can't open that EnglishText link. Could you attach it or send me here?
Thanks!
Chen

That would be great!
Here is the 006 file, which is currently up to date.
But the URL at the start of this topic will always be up to date.

Just post the file back here or email me at alchemy [at] al [dot] chemy [dot] org
Thanks in advance!

Hi Karl,
I've finished Chinese translation, both Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese. Please check your email.

Text Encoding:
Simplified Chinese: GB 2312
Traditional Chinese: Big 5

regards,
Chen

Thanks for that!
It's really great we have Chinese now :)

I managed to open the files using UTF-8 for some reason? Seemed to work anyway.
Here are some screen shots:

TraditionalChinese.png

By the way, I noticed the 'official' language code for Chinese in Singapore is 'Simplified Chinese'.
I am guessing it is probably good to stick with this?
In practice I wonder what other software uses?
Any idea?

Thanks again for all the help Chen.

Really, that's my mistake, I thought only China mainland use Simplified Chinese.
Now I know Singapore is using Simplified Chinese too, thanks!

UTF-8 is OK too.

BTW, where is "Shapes", "Line type", "Change the line type to freedom or straight lines"?
I didn't find them in the text file. But in Chinese they are:
"形状","线类型","选择线类型为自由线或直线"

And where can I download Alchemy with Chinese interface?
Thanks. :)

Hey,

Yeah as mentioned in this post earlier, some of the text is included in each individual plugin 'module' and not in the main language file.
Might need to work on changing this setup :(

I'll include the Chinese translations in the next release. Please sit tight till then.
Thanks again for your help!

Whoops, missed something there :P. "Vorige Page" should be "Vorige pagina" (under the Sessie (session) dropdown) . Sorry 'bout that,

Dean.
