Questions/discussion about contributing to Alchemy

Spectacle Productions

Hey,
I was super intrigued when I discovered Alchemy; the idea of using experimentation as a way of creating artwork is right up my alley.

I am part of a club that sells Artwork on the internet to either develop our own projects or donate to charities. When I checked your Creative Commons license it says no commercial work.

I was going to contact you in another way about seeing if we can find a way of using Alchemy to create an online art exhibition we can sell, probably donating the money to either you, charity, us or a mixture of all three.

I didn't want to make a forum post, it seems unprofessional, like a shameless plug, I would have rather have emailed you but could not find a contact us.

http://spectaclewelcome.webs.com is our website with http://spectacleart.webs.com being our art page.

Sorry to pester you on the forums, but I would like to chat to you about this. Spectacle also does free services so a free exhibition may be the only way... however with such a diverse program as Alchemy it could be so much more. We are planning an exhibition called Ink Wars in which we create art in ways we dont usually create it, Alchemy suits this perfectly.

Again, sorry to post this on the forums.

Hi,

Actually the forums is probably a good place to have this conversation, given that all of the artwork in the gallery is made by Alchemy users.
The CC license is for the site content in general, but it is of course possible to negotiate with the artists themselves - they are the ones who give permission etc.

Hey, thanks.

To be honest, its more work done by our own artists that we would like to sell; work by myself and other Spectacle Members.

Would it be O.K to use Alchemy made works within a 'purchaseable' exhibition on our website.

Thanks for the speedy reply :)

Hi Nathan,

Sure anything made by artists using Alchemy is their own work and they are free to use it as they wish.
Let me know if you have any more questions.
Good luck with that!
