Move Mirror Location and View Fullscreen Options

I am using Mac OS 10.5.5 G5 PPC. Java 1.5.0.16 class version 49.0. I have 1 flat screen Apple monitor and a Wacom Cintiq 21UX, effectively used as a 2 monitor setup. I deleted the previous version preference file before installing.

Am having problems with two features of the current Alpha 006.

Firstly, with the Mirror Affect, this seems to work fine until I attempt to use the Move tool to change the location of the reflection axis. When I do this, the guide crossbars appear, but I am subsequently no longer able to mark the canvas, even if I then select a different option from the Create menu. A quit and relaunch of the Alchemy application returns the other functions to normal so I can again mark the canvas, but the bug is repeatable.

Secondly, when I select View menu> Transparent Fullscreen, the item is checked in the menu, but nothing changes with the current open Alchemy document. If I then click on this again to uncheck it, the click on the View menu> Fullscreen, the document window disappears completely, along with all Alchemy menus at the top of the screen, with the exception of the Alchemy menu itself. From the Alchemy menu, I am then unable to bring up the About Alchemy or Preferences dialogue, but can Quit the application from the respective menu option. Relaunching the Alchemy application returns the interface to normal.

Possibly in connection with the above Fullscreen bug, the Console reports the following;

Hey,

- The move mirror axis thing looks to be a bug. Hold tight while i fix it up.

- The transparent full screen is actually ok, from the manual:

Transparent Fullscreen
Toggle transparent fullscreen mode. If selected, when entering fullscreen mode the Alchemy canvas window will disappear and you can draw directly on top of the desktop. Please note that this view does not show a live image of the desktop, so it is not possible to draw on top of moving video etc...

So I am not sure if it is confusing to have it as a second option there, but you select it then enter fullscreen, and exit again using the escape key. The better behaviour might be to go straight into fullscreen with a transparent bg?

- Lastly the error you reported is saying it can't find the file here: Alchemy.app/Contents/Resources/Java/libAlcNative.jnilib
It should be there, check by right clicking the Alchemy.app and 'Show Package Contents'. If not you will need to install again.

I have checked the package contents, and the Alchemy.app/Contents/Resources/Java/libAlcNative.jnilib file is definitely present, so I don't know why it cannot be found.

This is fresh off the server, so try deleting your old Alchemy, emptying the trash, then copy it across?
Also try deleting your preferences.

Sorry for the confusion Karl, when you say copy it across, is there a link to a modified file in your post, or should I download the original file again?

The Alchemy file names/ structure are the same as what you are displaying in your image. I have deleted the Alchemy folder and preferences, and then made a fresh reinstall after emptying the trash. The original issues are still the same with the re-install.

When I choose the View> Fullscreen option, the screen on my Cintiq flickers white momentarily, but I cannot draw on either monitor and the Alchemy Canvas disappears (Transparent Fullscreen not checked in the View menu).

I can still use Alchemy without the Fullscreen options, Karl, so it is not a big issue with me, but it would be useful to have the move mirror option working again.

Yes I meant to delete the preferences and reinstall Alchemy.
But it seems that doesn't solve the problem.
Can you post a couple of screen grabs like below showing your screen setup?

I use two monitors and have been careful to make sure everything works with such a setup, but it is possible the problem could be related to your particular hardware/setup.

Also can you let me know if there are any errors in the console when you experience this bug?

Lastly, I have updated the mirror module. You can either download the app again, or download this module and put it into your Alchemy/modules folder (remember to delete the old one called "org.alchemy.affect.mirror-1.0.8.zip"):

As a side note, do the modules have to be individually unzipped in the installed modules folder? I have only just noticed that they are all still in their zipped form.

Hi Karl, the UnsatisfiedLinkError only seems to appear in the Console list after I have either selected the fullscreen from the menu or used the shortcut, although there is a time delay of a few seconds after selecting the fullscreen command, during which the Cintiq screen flickers white and the list displays in the Console.

If I first begin drawing on the Canvas, a list will display in the canvas after a few seconds delay (items above dotted line in Console output below). Interestingly, in this case it is reporting that only 7 out of 19 Plugins are active at that point. I then select the Fullscreen option, and after a delay, the items below the dotted line appeared in the Console.

Please don't loose any sleep over this Karl, it may only be specific to my monitor/Cintiq configuration, and I can still happily use Alchemy without the Fullscreen/Transparent Fullscreen modes.
