We love bug reports, seriously! It makes Alchemy stronger, fitter, and healthier.
But before you post here...

Check the manual
The manual explains each feature and how to use the interface.
If you are unsure if the bug is a bug and not a feature, be sure to check here first:
http://en.flossmanuals.net/Alchemy/

Provide information about your system
+ What platform you are using: Windows / Mac / Linux.
+ What version of Java you are using. Check here: http://www.java.com/en/download/help/testvm.xml

Provide information about the problem
+ If it is an error or a crash, then the error message or output from the console is very useful.
Info on the Java console in Windows:
http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.5.0/docs/gui ... nsole.html
On a Mac, open the 'Console' application in your /Applications/Utilities/ folder.
+ If you are having problems with a module that uses specific hardware, like a microphone or a pen tablet - give us info on the hardware you are using.

Delete the preferences if required
Finally, if you all of a sudden start having trouble with Alchemy launching or similar, try deleting the preferences.
- On Windows this is done by opening the registry: Start > Run... > Type in 'regedit.exe' and hit enter > Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\JavaSoft\Prefs\org\ > Right click and delete the 'alchemy' folder.
- On Mac the preference file can be deleted here: /YourUserName/Library/Preferences/org.alchemy.core.plist
- On Linux it is hidden file saved on the user drive somewhere...

Problems launching the application?
- Make sure you have Java installed. Get Java here: http://www.java.com/getjava
- Windows users please make sure the path to Alchemy does not contain any non-standard characters such as the exclamation mark (!), this has been known to cause problems launching the application. If your user name has non-standard characters, try putting Alchemy directly into the root directory.

Thank you!
