Pressure Shapes making blots

When I am using pressure shapes to create thin lines, I often run into the problem of it creating ugly black blots. These spots appear somewhat consistently, usually when making a sudden change in direction or at the start of a stroke.

Have you tried adjusting the pressure settings? It'd seem to me that I'd expect blots in those circumstances, maybe you can reduce their frequency by limiting their pressure response, or by adjusting your tablet's sensitivity.
