screen goes nuts

Postby sifuxristos on Thu, 11 Mar 2010 00:06:48 GMT

Hello to all. first of all i would like you for this awesome program.
In the last edition i experienced something rather strange. When i try to draw, the drawing moves up the screen and when i press again the mouse it returns to the center but the moment i release it it again goes up and multiplied, like it is scattered. it is really confusing. any help?

Hi, i expiriance the same error
When i draw, all is looking fine,
when i stop drawing the picture becomes very wierd.
Then when i start drawing again it looks good , but only as long as i dont stop drawing.

I have Net. Frame 4, mb it has somthing to do with this?

EDIT:

Ok i have tested in on my Win7 and there it works without any problems.(laptop)

But at HomePC there are some problems, its XP sp2 and the program seems to copy
the whole screen(the white in the paint program) several times in the directions top and left
by in creasing the distant in top by about 200 pixels and in the left by about 700 pixels.
Leaving only a space of 700x200 free from any ugly changes.
This only happens when i do UNpress any painting(mouse), while painting al looks fine.
About the Numbers, i dont know exactly if its 700x200, its only a guess.

I have updated the Java env, but no effect.

Do you have any screen captures of the problem?

OFC

And here it goes:

The Top-Left, It shows the problem, when i release the mouse drawing button,
The Top-Right, It shows when i was in the hiden menue and move mouse to the drawing again,
The Bottom-Left, It shows the full picture.

Pls notice i used the Mirror-modifier. But the problem apears even without.

Another thing i discoverd was that when i minimize then maximize the window, well then the pic is show normal.

Additionaly this "behaviour" of the screen does NOT happen when i draw the first line.
The first line i draw after starting Alchemy causes no strange screen.

Thanks for posting the screen shot.
Alchemy tries to use the video card to accelerate drawing to screen.
Those artifacts look like there is something crazy going on deep down with the video card and Java.
Unfortunately it is not easy to turn off the video acceleration...

Just to check that this is the problem, try download Alpha 002 and see if that makes a difference.
That version did not yet have the video acceleration implemented (and was very slow).

Let me know how you go.

I had the same problem at first. Solved it with my favorite solution-strategy. Just turn on compatibilitymode and set it to Windows 2000. Worked fine for me :D Hope that helps. Please give me Feedback whether it does :)

Hi there ;)
I checkeded it on Beta 008 and there's the same problem. However, after I turned on compatibility to Windows 2000, it works correctly.
