alechemy doesn´t run (java script error)

hello,

i gladly downloaded alechmy, but then surprise surpice it doesn´t run.
instead i get a pop up error message:

"Cannot launch Java application

Uncaught exception in main method:
java.lang.RuntimeException:
java.lang.NullPointerException"

what does that mean?
i did an java update after, but didn´t help
what to do now?

Also from the ReadMe.txt

Windows users please make sure the path to Alchemy does not contain any non-standard
characters such as the exclamation mark (!), this has been known to cause problems
launching the application. If your user name has non-standard characters,
try putting Alchemy directly into the root directory.

Can you check the console in your /Applications/Utilities/ folder.
Open the Console application, clear the log, then run Alchemy.
Check it for errors that come up and report back if you can.

another problem that i noticed is that i have to force quit alchemy when i want to either just simply close alchemy or restart/shut down my computer.

Did you manage to run Alchemy once and then the error started?
Or has it never launched?

Just from looking at the code, it might be a problem with the fullscreen.
Try control/rightclick "Show Package Contents" on the Alchemy.app and navigate to:
Alchemy.app/Contents/Resources/Java

Then try removing the "libAlcNative.jnilib" file and see if that makes a difference.

no, unfortunately i never managed to run & launch it:(

I removed "libAlcNative.jnilib" as you told me, but it still gives me the same error anouncement

Try download the Linux version:
http://al.chemy.org/download/

And run by double clicking the Alchemy.jar.
It might be missing a few bells and whistles, but that should work.
