Difficult to work with Ubuntu 8.10

Hi everybody ,

excuse my poor english.
I explain my problem, i can does work normaly with Alchemy in normal mode but if i activate the parameters of opacity mode, my computer work slowly.

For information, my computer work with Ubuntu 8.10 and 2 Go ram. Normaly, this is not a problem for work with this computer configuration.
